FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Benny Feilhaber scored and set up his first goal of the season as the New England Revolution beat the Chicago Fire 2-0 on Saturday night at Gillette Staduim.
Kelyn Rowe and Benny Feilhaber scored for the local side within just five minutes apart midway through the second half to win what looked to be a scoreless game on a rainy night for the Revolution.
Rowe came in as a sub in the 64th minute to replace Fernando Cardenas and scored five minutes later on pass by Benny Feilhaber to break the scoreless affair between two teams who where eliminated from the US Open Cup tournament earlier this week. Benny would increase the lead for the local side when he received a pass from Rowe from the right side of the penalty area to score his first goal of the season.
The victory improved the Revolution home record to 4-1-1, while Chicago Fire dropped to 2-4-1 on the road, three straight defeats on the road.
