The New England Revolution took on the Montreal Impact for their first home game of the 2015 season, and registered their first point of the young season after having gone 0-2 in their previous 2 outings.
Early on, the game was evenly balanced with both sides creating some chances, but neither were able to capitalize on their opportunities. In the 20th minute, Montreal’s forward Cameron Porter landed awkwardly on his left leg and appeared to have suffered a rather serious injury, he was replaced by New England’s longtime nemesis Jack McInerney.
At the hour mark, Montreal’s Camara would be sent off after getting a second yellow card, for pulling down Agudelo who was racing wide open towards the goal. Playing with a man advantage and looking for a spark, Revs Coach Jay Heaps brought in a second striker, Charlie Davies to replace Kelyn Rowe.
Playing a man down, Montreal expectedly stacked the box and made it very difficult for the Revs to create any clear cut chances. The game would end on a scoreless draw, and the New England Revs are yet to score this season. They remain at home to take on San Jose Earthquakes next Saturday. Meanwhile, the Impact will return home to host Kaka and Orlando City.
