The New England Revolution suffered another disappointing home loss despite playing a better game than the Montreal Impact who was visiting Gillette Stadium on Sunday night.
Sanna Nyassi scored the lone goal of the game in the 61st minute to give the Montreal Impact their second road-win of the season and also their second win over the New England Revolution in about a month.
The Revs had four chances in the first half but none of them gave goalkeeper Troy Perkins any trouble. Their first chance came in the 7th minute when Benny Feilhaber sent a beautiful pass to forward Saer Sene who kicked the ball far of the left post. Lee Nguyen had one great chance in the which resulted in a crossbar hit in the 30th minute. The crossbar would save the Impact again when Saer sene took a marvelous shot in the 41st minute after receiving a nice pass from Lee Nguyen.
Nyassi, who entered the game at halftime scored a beauty when he ended a solo run which started in his own half with a great shot past Matt Reis for the difference of the game. The Revs had many chances in the second half to respond to the goal but Troy Perkins made some solid saves to preserve the game for the visitors.
New England has now lost four of their last five and also suffered their third straight 1-0 home-losses while the impact has now won four of its last five games.
Up next the Revolution will travel to Chicago to face the Fire on August, 19, 2012 at 8:30 pm while the Montreal Impact will be visiting the San Jose Earthquake the same night.
