Norwich City’s supporters made the unholy 515-mile round trip to Newcastle on Sunday to witness their team boss possession (56-44 percent) and out-shoot their opponents 18-11 only to be on the end of a 6-2 stuffing.
Georginio Wijnaldum (£6.8m) racked up a massive 27 points from his four goals against Norwich. To put this into context, that’s only four points down on Eden Hazard’s (£9.9m) total for the whole season.
Newcastle were clinical against the Canaries, scoring six times from six shots on target.
Wijnaldum has been lethal all season — he’s scored six goals from 12 attempts; a conversion rate of 50 percent that’s way above his fellow top-ranked midfielders Alexis Sanchez (£9.8m) and Dmitri Payet (£8.2m), who have 13.3 and 29.4 percent respectively.
